It’s been near three months since the the release of the ROG Ally and there’s still questions regarding the on going MicroSD card issues and the lack of frequent updates to the device. I compiled a list of things I would like to see ASUS do to help improve the ROG Ally.
ROG Ally Wishlist
- Address the MicroSD Card issue head on finally. SD Cards are breaking left and right inside the ROG Ally and there’s still no definitive fix in site. If it takes a recall for the early models we have, then so be it. I personally haven’t used my microSD card slot since the issues came to light.
- This may be out of ASUS hands but we need quicker AMD Driver updates. Similar to desktop GPU’s that frequently get driver updates when new games are set to release, we should get the same treatment. We finally got a rare update for the Starfield release but this should be a common thing.
- Have all the updates in one dedicated area inside Armoury Crate SE instead of the multiple places we have to go now to update our ROG Ally. New users to the device could feel overwhelmed by the amount of different areas we need to go to update the device.
- Enable native Gyro support. We currently have to use third party software like Handheld Companion to use this.
- Add lower TDP options in Armoury Crate. There’s indie games such as Sea of Stars that run perfectly fine at 7W and give us extra battery life. Instead we have to rely on third party software. Even adding a simple slider in the command center would be great.
